Her performance in "The Blues Brothers" only revived her career and brought an entirely new generation of fans to her music in a disco era that almost killed it, but hey it's not worth an honorable mention or anything. πŸ˜’

I wonder if there was ever a single moment in Aretha Franklin's life that she could not let out a song in perfect tune, pitch and tempo? I always liked her. But now that she has passed away I feel that I didn't recognize her enough for her pure soulful music and talent. Lucky for me I have a gigantic record collection to call upon!

She went to sleep for now…….1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 King James Version (KJV)

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

We will continue to honor her by enjoying her music. She left a priceless legacy with this generation that we can always treasure. I have played two songs each day of hers since the day she went away from this Earth and will continue to listen to her songs and capture her essence.

Unbelievably embarrassing to watch all those men accepting an award on behalf of the first woman acknowledged for her contribution to rock and roll, in bloody 1987, decades after Big Momma Thornton and other fine ladies made their pivotal marks on rock history.
