The series originated in 1963 as Misterogers on CBC Television, and was later re-branded in 1966 as Misterogers' Neighborhood and later Mister Rogers' Neighborhood on the regional Eastern Educational Network (EEN, a forerunner of today's American Public Television). The US national debut of the show occurred on February 19, 1968.
Late Night with David Letterman debuted February 1, 1982; the first guest on the first show was Bill Murray. Murray later went on to become one of Letterman's most recurrent guests, guesting on the show's 30th anniversary episode, which aired January 31, 2012 and on the very last show, which aired May 20, 2015.
In 1961, Roger Maris hit his 61st home run of the season and broke a record that no one thought would ever be duplicated, much less broken. Babe Ruth's record of 60 home runs had stood since 1927. Historians describe that 1927 Yankees squad as one of the greatest ever.
Just to be clear I answered the last question correctly first, I even went through the live chat to screenshot it. So just so you all know the system is flawed, I typed my answer and sent it and it showed up before the person you called out said it. I don't know why but once the live show was over and I checked the live chat feed the answer I gave appears out of order from when it was live. I'm guessing a lot of other people are having the same problem because I saw other people saying they got answers before others as well. Some food for thought WatchMojo…
