What missable details in the Avengers Endgame trailer could provide clues to the Endgame story, and how the Avengers could suffer another humiliating defeat against Thanos? Erik Voss analyzes the Endgame footage and clues hinted by the filmmakers to produce a theory for how Endgame could follow in the footsteps of past MCU installments — Avengers Infinity War, Captain America Civil War, Avengers Age of Ultron, and Captain America Winter Soldier. Can Thanos snap AGAIN? Was Infinity War originally planned to have an alternate ending? Which Avenger will die first in Endgame?

I agree with them failing a number of times until they figure out how to win but I think it has more to do with doctor strange, maybe he put a spell on time stone so they keep repeating the battle with Thanos until they win – like he did with Dormamu

I think they give it their best go to kill Thanos and take the gauntlet and they end up losing Thor and Captain Marvel. The rest of the film is them going back in time specifically to alter key points in the time line to allow the Avengers and the Guardians (and Captain Marvel) to ALL fight Thanos at the same time… during which some of the original Avengers die. But I don't think they "undo" the snap. They undo Civil War, allowing the Avengers to stop Thanos together since the overarching theme of the Avengers films was always the rocky relationship between the Avengers and how they could come together in a crisis. Infinity War was them fighting divided… so they lost. Endgame is them undoing Civil War so they can defeat Thanos before the snap, which is why Agents of SHIELD and the other MCU TV shows can't reference the snap, since it never happened to anyone.

I dont know how I missed this before as I've watched the MCU movies a trillion times, but in Tony's vision, was that a dead Watcher at the top of the bodies? When the scene first starts scrolling from sky to ground to then focus in in Tony, at the beginning of the camera pan, it looked like a Watchers giant dome laying on the ground

that would make the avengers 2-2 then, and people will lose faith in the avengers should they fail again,i wanna see them in a stalemate with thanos then the cosmic entities arrive and imprison thanos for his actions

My theory: Just like Erik said, there will be series of events where they try and try again. And then will keep losing more and more. And Cap decides that the last tactic to do is to sacrifice one while battling Thanos, just to let his guard down so Thanos does not rewind time or anything. Remember "Endgame". Sacrificing a few characters for a bigger victory. People say that Cap or Tony will die, but never forget about Banner, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Thor. They can all easily sacrifice themselves for the greater good. Maybe Thor will, because he lost everyone he loved and he feels too guilty for not hitting Thanos in the head. And the way he looks at his hammer in the trailer seems like he is thinking "I can do this. But differently". Maybe resulting to his death and sacrifice, just to save everyone. Just my theory.
